What if a boot-up password is set? Do you really mean boot-up, anyway,
as my notebook takes well over any normal IP timeout to boot!

*Any* network activity? I can't think of an IP network I'd normally
connect to that's inactive for any noticeable period. But that activity
is often rather local, as (eg) my ISDN router doesn't allow people in
the outside world (beyond my house) to cause it to dial-back.

Another good reason to use WaveLAN, perhaps. I can't see how that could
be engineered into a "Wake-up" configuration (when the card is off, it's
OFF).
