David Reed has put down some interesting thoughts on Intel's 'LaGrande'
DRM platform.

He makes an intriguing aside about an old 'military security model' that
I would like to know more about. The mistake he draws attention to must
be very common though. Assuming a system built to an ideal specification
will work, when in practice such an ideal is far from that actually
followed.

The main points made seem eminently reasonable. That it is a mistake to
freeze a specific security model in hardware, and potentially stifling
to innovation. What unintended consequences might there be?

I'd not heard of the Intel 432i 'OO' microprocessor!

Cheers,
