Hey, is it just me, or is the Home Office's use of ``Public Safety'' an
echo of ``Committee of Public Safety''? There's an outline at
http://www.ucl.ac.uk/history/courses/europe1/chron/csp.htm. You'd have
thought that the Home Office would have a few people with an historical
perspective, but perhaps they assume that the rest of us don't.
