There were reports from Japan that the researchers feared
publishing their findings on the Internet -- due to the substantial
investment by giant Japanese firms in the technology.

of the research. Similarly, the Dutch researchers who in 2001 
published similar findings did not name the manufacturers:

This reminds of other attempts to suppress research findings
in order to protect us from our terrifying researchers who refuse
to mind their government and business manners to assure no 
holes are revealed in pork-funded similitude security.
