news on this?

The HO site is just ridiculously out of date
http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/ripa/imptable.htm

May as well take the opportunity to plug the FIPR Alert list,
exclusively available to Friends of FIPR (25 quid
http://www.fipr.org/friends.html) - had you been a subscriber, you would
have had all the latest news....

The free FIPR Bulletin will is only for Press Releases and major
announcements. The Alert list is where you will get fine-grained stuff
on RIP and other FIPR policy work.

Cheers

Subject: RE: Update on RIP Implementation schedule ?

On Part I Chapter I, the Home Secretary has invited industry
representatives to become members of TAB and that he will be considering
nominations for the government appointments later this month. Our
intention is that an announcement concerning TAB becoming operational
will be made when the Section 12 Order is laid before parliament. We
hope to do this before the summer recess. We expect the code of
practice to be laid before Parliament very shortly.

On Part I Chapter II, we hope to lay an Order before Parliament adding
additional public authorities later this month. Once this has been
approved by Parliament, we intend to implement Part I Chapter II
provisions. We intend to lay the code of practice for this part of the
Act before Parliament before the Summer recess.

On Part III, we hope that the code of practice will go out to public
consultation next month.

Please could you give an update on expected RIP implementation schedule
for Parts 1 (Ch 1 & 2) and Part 3 ?

The Home Office website still says second half of 2001 for Pt.3, and
Easter 2002 for Pt.1 Ch.2.

I realise that Pt.1 Ch.1 is dependent on TAB, and would appreciate
update on that too.
