BBC: Smart card aims to fight fraud

According to the article it is replacing fraud with spam! It says:-
"The LCD display on the card would also let you receive text messages
about special offers, perhaps a free soft drink in a fast-food restaurant
or an upgrade to first class when seats are available"
Some would say that spam is fraud .....
This business about credit cards receiving spam also opens up the
interesting possibility of a denial of service attack. Hmm..
