Apologies if this has been covered before...
In the BBC news article at
http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/uk/england/newsid_2128000/2128482.stm about
the proposed charge for driving in London, there is mention of the
enforcement method:
"About 230 cameras will be used to take pictures of number plates, which
will then be checked with a central database to see if the fee has been
paid. "
Hmmm... one wonders exactly _which_ database this is and who has access to
it ;-)
