Much the same argument was made against the open source community in=20
distributing software that was both free of cost and free to be shared. =20
Most of the problems in Microsofts operating systems would have been=20
solved today if they had not been a "closed box" and allowed the wider=20
community access to it to correct its problems.
Harking back to an earlier exchange of posts, this sounds like a charter=20
to outlaw DeCSS and the like.
