I did contact them, but they didn't need any convincing. The matter was
decided before I needed to try, and quite possibly before I contacted them.


Apparently there was no significant "change of heart" in the first place;
quoting Mr Clancy (on Roland's call): "I recall that I did state that we
would have to look into the matter further".
