Porn was decriminalised (or not-criminalised, depending on your point of view)
in the late 60's/early 70's (it's somewhat more complex than that in that the
genre evolved as time went on, people's perceptions of what was and wasn't
right or wrong changed over time (and that's been going on for a long time, eg
material containing information on contraception used to be illegal in NZ in
the 1920s and 1930s), and technically it really went from being a grey area to
being black-and-white). One of the effects of this was that child porn was
made legal in many countries as part of the general decriminalisation/de-grey-
areaisation, finally being criminalised in the 1980s (the last to do it was the
Netherlands in 1982 or 1984). Contrary to your belief, it *was* legal in
Denmark until the early '80s. I stopped reading alt.censorship a few years
back because of the bandwidth and because eventually it's just the same stuff
over and over again so I haven't got all the dates and whatnot at my
fingertips, however rather than engaging in wild and uninformed speculation I'd
suggest, again, that you read the newsgroup and/or archives for awhile if you
want more info.
