I don't think the Torygraph hires editors straight out of school.
That paper has a great many problems. John Keegan's inability to think
straight about any technological development since the invention of
smokeless powder is one of them. (Though as someone else said, he can be
a powerful narrative historian of the actual course of battle). But,
having met a few of them in the pub when I used to work at Canary Wharf,
I really don't think that they are employing recent media studies
graduates as editors :-)
