It wouldn't stop you using Hotmail (or $other_webmail), Hushmail or SSH to
a shell server (all three of which I do, for example), though.

However, I neglected to mention previously, that FreeservePlus does proxy
SMTP connexions (if that's the right way to put it).  It's quite useful
when wanting to email by telnet, as I just telnet to ~anywhere~ on 25 and
end up on mail.pol.co.uk (or whatever the box is called).

Yet another reason to promote the widespread use of crypto, imho.  :o)
