Action This Day: A Book Announcement

A new book about the British Government Code and Cypher School
at Bletchley Park will be published on Friday 5 October 2001.

The title is:
"Action This Day: Bletchley Park from the breaking of the
Enigma Code to the birth of the modern computer",
London: Bantam Press (ISBN 0-593-04910-1); 543 + xv pp; =A325.

The editors are  Michael Smith and Ralph Erskine, both well
known experts on Bletchley Park and wartime codebreaking, who
have published widely in this field. Previous books by
Michael Smith are "Station X: the Codebreakers of Bletchley
Park" and "The Emperor's Codes". Ralph Erskine is a well known
expert on naval Enigma and the history of allied codebreaking.

All royalties from the book are being donated to the Bletchley
Park Trust, which is a registered charity in the UK.

The release of this book now before Christmas is perhaps a=20

the same time making a contribution to the Bletchley Park Trust.
