Privacy and Human Rights: what chance for Article 8?

Liberty Annual Conference.

This conference addresses privacy in the UK. We will debate Article 8 of the
Human Rights Act and its future in light of new legislation such as the
Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act. What is the real strength of Article
8 when pitched against such intrusions?

The conference is designed to appeal to a wide range of individuals. The
balance of speakers and seminar topics will encourage debate and discussion.
It will be a very full day covering the most pertinent aspects of privacy in
our society. Focussing on the Privacy aspect of Article 8, it will give an
update on cases brought under the Human Rights Act, and also provide an
expert analysis of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA).

Through use of lively panel debate and seminar discussions, the day will
explore the following issues:

·	Privacy in the workplace
·	Genetic data
