For reasons I have explained in my ongoing debate with Owen Lewis, it seems
to me that evolutionary design techniques might be able to achieve designs
that are better in some senses than those that result from directed design
efforts.

But since I am guilty (with Owen's dedicated assistance) of taking us way
off topic, perhaps I can attempt to bring us back to reality by asking if
anyone is aware of any attempts to use approaches that mimic evolution in
the design of secure systems?
