Clarke is a party politician and therefore has zero credibility. What 
matters is what the words say on the piece of paper (no sign of 
more modern means yet, despite the odd publicity stunt). The words 
of a party politician have no real relevance at all, as our legal friends 
have eloquently stated in this group.
