That's more or less the point I was making.  That and the fact that they
DON'T trust their neighbours.

The question of whether their security services, OR their neighbours
actually merit the respective levels of trust and mistrust (or the match
between perception and reality) is perhaps the main issue here.

Ditto the same question when applied to the UK.
