Just when I thought the paranoia discussion had hit rock bottom I find people
are starting to dig... In-Q-Tel is just another VC, it just happens to fund
work which is of interest to the CIA. Presumably the CIA have an interest in
protecting anonymity of their agents (or whatever their original press release
said), so they're using In-Q-Tel to fund a company which already has expertise
in this area rather than building it themselves from scratch, just like other
VCs who are backed by the Rockefellers, the Trilaterial Commission, the
Bavarian Illuminati, etc etc will fund work of interest to their backers (for
example I hear the Illuminati are very active in funding companies working on
satellites for their orbital mind control work). The CIA want anonymity, so
they're making sure a company which needs VC and builds anonymity products gets
their venture capital. You can even see a leaked copy of their top secret
agenda at http://www.in-q-tel.com/submit%20a%20business%20plan.htm:
In-Q-Tel is in search of breakthrough information technologies. In-Q-Tel's
mission is to search out new information technologies that solve some of the
most complex problems faced by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and
help these technologies become successful in the marketplace. In-Q-Tel is
looking to invest in breakthrough IT solutions of significant future
commercial value.
Basis for selection is:
The value of the proposed technology R&D solution to the priority problems of
the Central Intelligence Agency [...] The commercialization potential of the
technology [...] Commitment to commercialization [...] Strength and validity
of the business model.
which is the same as for any VC firm if you substitute their name for "CIA".
Sorry to disappoint everyone, but sometimes, a cigar is just a cigar.
Peter.
