For some reason I couldn't post to the list. Here you go(the benefit
of living in Brussels):
Context: People (i.e. Desmond Perkins, responsible for crypto in the
EU) are asking about the USA using Echelon against the EU.
The response was that the EU consulted the NSA on testing a
cryptosystem for use with internal EU communication.
When contacted, the NSA, stated that messages encypted with the EU
cryptosystem take "more than two weeks" to decrypt.
Scandal!
