Looking again at RIPA, I see that Plod is required to include in his notice the
"purpose" of his request. "National Security is one of the "purposes" which can
apply. If Plod doesn't mention that, then under the Liberal Amendment you don't
have to give him anything that has been retained for longer then your "usual"
period.
