If "public key" is  too obscure "asymmetric" will still sound too techy
to most people. Maybe even "dual" is a little difficult. Perhaps
something like "two-way encryption" or even "lock-and-key encryption"
would get the idea over better.

We know it isn't really a lock and a key of course...
