Well, those of us who grew up before techies used to belive that a
scientist deams of what might be and an engineer dreams of what can be.
Suppose a techie might be someone who does not bother to dream, they just
do it - personally, one of my favorite pastimes is just to wander in a
junkyard or surplus house until a way to fix something is found. 8*).
