It has taken all of three weeks for this report to find its way through
the news dissemination process.  So it looks to me like you have a point.

Paddington (where this happened) is (for those who don't use the station)
the place you would normally go to catch a train down to the West Country.
According to BBC news, the circumstances match the standard technique of 
distract-and-snatch that is commonly used against a targeted item/victim.

Seems like it might have worked.
