Now this is just what we need. It was on the one O'clock news (BBC) and
portrayed the Special Branch if not in a poor light then not a good one
either. Mature student arrested, Vice Chancellor compelled to hand over
computer and other details. Student, required to disclose contents of HDD
and held for 12 hours before being released on bail without charge.
There was a nice shot of the Vice Chancellor and mumblings about civil
liberties, which sounded good. Much panning over the Uni and Halls of residence.
Against the background of this scenario Jack "the Knife" Straw is trying to
bring in even more draconian powers to subject and coerce the population.
And all in the name of New Labour, new Justice and New Freedom for all. The
question has again to be Why?
Anyhow I think the Govt. may have contracted bananaskinitis, this along with
recent blunders is reminiscent of another regime, and what did young
thrusting Tony have to say about them!
Anyhow, Tony is secure in the knowledge that his civil liberties will not be
infringed as he can pull a Judge out of a hat, perhaps he will do it for
"juniors" 1st B'day, now there is a thought!
