Might be interesting for ukcrypto to hold a sweepstake on who the Government
chooses as their backbench members of the Standing Ctee

Usual criteria:

*) owed a favour/doing a favour for the Whips
*) not encumbered by any knowledge of the subject matter
*) at 2nd Reading gave speech sounding like a govt. press release, evidently
not their own work
*) can be trusted to vote with govt. in Ctee, whatever happens
*) capable when necessary of throwing off opposition with awe-inspiring
non-sequitur and misconceived argument.

I know that doesn't narrow the field much.
