There will be two posts which contin the entire text of the European Court
of Human rights case. Sorry for there being 2, but my venerable Eudora would
not let me do it in one.

Judgement was handed down 16.02.00.

It is a good (if obvious) example of how an innocent person can become
embroiled in the murky world of "Intelligence". It is also a good example of
how a Government's apparatus tries to justify itself on the grounds of
National interest and security.

Best of all it contains details of how the Court interprets the Articles of
the European convention, with specific (there is that word again, I must get
out a thesaurus!) reference to privacy and the existing Laws of a state
subject to the Court. The proponents of the RIP would do well to read the
whole thing very carefully lest they end up before the Court.

The whole thing is around 40 pages, but I believe that it should be read as
a whole and not in isolated parts. If you are not interested leave it as you
will die of boredom before the end of part 1!
