For those who missed the interview with John Wadham of Liberty at 07:25 on
the "Today" program, it has been reported that a female researcher on the
Mark Thomas Comedy Show (the Shayler episode) was arrested yesterday under
the OSA by Special Branch Officers.
She is a student at Kingston University and a Hall Senior. The Police
arrived at the University with a warrant and asked officials where she
lived. Her accommodation was apparently searched and "computers examined"
and she was taken away. Liberty have apparently provided a lawyer.
One reason given by the BBC reporter for the arrest is that she has
allegedly been in e-mail contact with Shayler.
The BBC WWW site should soon be able to provide more details of the
"Today" report and the interview with John Wadham.
