may be straying slightly off the point here, Donald. Gotta be a talking head
with some kind of a presence. Brits may love mad scientists, but they sure
as hell don't take them seriously. CP Snow wrote a lot of guff, but the
arts/science divide he identified is alive and well, and partly the result
of the popular idea of scientists as being rather lacking in realworld
smarts. Not to mention the prevalence till fairly recently of (no disrespect
to the OU intended) images of science types in iffy flares and beards you
could lose a tree in.
