Hmm. it's lucky that online Email tends to be HTTPS then yes?

Problem is, how are they going to distinguish between a GET request and any
other without looking inside the packet?

Again, a Usenet post goes to the same port on the same server a usenet fetch
does - so they are able to look inside the envelope to check *just in case*
it is a fetch request.

Indeed - he is referring to the famous CoP that no-one has ever seen, whose
protections will be all encompassing but not actually enforced, and of
course subject to change without notification.
