The impression I got from reading the sealand web page was that the 1968
court ruling simply said "well, yes, it is more than 3 miles away". It didn't
say anything that would prevent the UK claiming ownership now that the
limit is 12 miles not 3 miles.
Also I'm not quite sure what's so secure about a territory with no armed
forces to speak of.
