BBC News: Crackdown on computer criminals

Richard's parsing of the BBC News Online story seems about right.  As far
as I understand,  NCIS went to see the Home Office last Autumn to lobby
for a Cyber Crime Squad (having talked to a quite a large number of people
about how it might operate).  The Home Office were not prepared to set up
a unit forthwith but gave about £330,000 to research the project.  The
Project Manager is Mark Castell and he reports to John Abbott's deputy,
Roger Gaspar.
