Yes, the UK is a signatory to the European Convention on Human Rights, but it is about to incorporate it into UK law in a statute (which will mean that it will hopefully be easier for those who think that their rights have been breached to get a remedy since they will be able to cite the statute in the courts in the UK, rather than having to go through those courts under national law and then go to Europe to check whether that answer was in accordance with their rights under the Convention.
