I went to get membership at a firing range in the Bay Area last week (I
wonder if my boss will sign an expenses claim for 450 rounds of .38
special, on the grounds that it was part of a business meeting with
suppliers?) I'd come almost straight from the plane, but I'd dumped my
jacket at the hotel, with my passport in it. I was able to get
membership on the strength of my UK driving license (no photo, expires
somewhere around the time time_ts wrap around) and my photo-equipped
credit card (to tie photo to name). The US citizens were able to just
use their driving licenses.
