No, I think you are not correct. One substantial firm recently had its
logo redesigned. It worked fine when printed out on laser printers, but
failed entirely when it was sent out by fax, because the fax drivers
could not support the fonts used. They didn't notice it for many weeks.
When I have dealt with big firms, I have never seen the process you
describe.
