I have a better idea - most professional criminals use guns, right? so legislate that,
when they come in to re-new their gun licences, they must bring in all guns they
own so a ballistic "fingerprint" can be taken. That way, the next time they use
a firearm for illegal purposes, the police can be waiting on their doorstep to
question them.

Lets face facts here - a criminal is not going to follow a law that puts him at a
disadvantage - that's why he is a criminal! Laws are only there to be obeyed
by the law abiding.......
