[git-remote-gcrypt] Packfile [...] does not match digest!

Hello all,
I tried to clone my git repository with the gcrypt prefix attached as usual, but to my shock, it didn't work. I got the error:

gcrypt: Packfile [...] does not match digest!
fatal: early EOF

The command I used was: git clone gcrypt::https://USER:PASSWORD@HOST/USER/Repo.git.
I am using the newest version of git-remote-gcrypt downloaded from https://github.com/spwhitton/git-remote-gcrypt.

The packfile mentioned in the error is not listed in the files of the repository, but I found it in a old commit (as my Git remote keeps track of all pushes and won't delete them after a git push --force).

Do you know what may have caused this? I have no idea on what to do at this point.
I would be very grateful for any help.

Best regards,

Mert Can
