I am pleased to announce secnet 0.6.9.
secnet 0.6.9 is a low-priority maintenance release.
It contains one minor new feature: automatic log rotation.
This is done by providing a logrotate snippet, which is installed in
the Debian packaging and enabled by default.
If you are running secnet with a "systsem { userid ... }" setting,
you must also set that same username with USER= in /etc/default/secnet.
Otherwise secnet won't be able to open the new logfile.
Apart from that, since 0.6.7, there are some minor portability fixes.
0.6.9 can be found in Debian "unstable", and here:
https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/ucgi/~ianmdlvl/git/secnet.git/
https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~secnet/release/0.6.7/
SHA-256 checksums are listed below.
The .deb was built on Debian amd64 trixie (stable) and should work
as-is on more recent versions of Debian and derivatives.
secnet (0.6.9) unstable; urgency=medium
* Upstream release of changes since 0.6.7. (0.6.8 was Debian-only.)
Packaging:
* Arrange for log rotation. Closes: #1053571.
Users may need to set USER in /etc/default/secnet. See NEWS.Debian.
* Prebuilt binaries are now built for current Debian stable ("trixie").
Build fixes:
* Remove a spurious const; fixes build with new glibc.
[Report from Aurelien Jarno] Closes: #1128749.
* Fixes and workarounds for building with Clang (21).

[Report from Tomas Pospisek] Closes: #1066029.
