I am pleased to announce papersway 2.000.
papersway is an implementation of PaperWM-like scrollable tiling window
management for Sway/i3wm. For more information please see
<https://spwhitton.name/tech/code/papersway/>.
News since the last version announced to this list (1.000):
- New "scroll left", "scroll right" commands.
- New wide windows replace monocle mode.
'width toggle' command replaces 'monocle toggle'.
Prompted by some feedback from PaperWM user Joey Hess.
- New 'bury-workspace' command.
- New --cols and --debug options.
- Reduce resize flickering when moving along the row of windows.
- Prune windows that no longer exist from the lists of windows pushed
off. This fixes at least one bug.
- Update status display when moving column left/right with a wide
window.
- Update --i3status output when title of the caffeinated window changes.
- Don't allow reducing the number of columns below two.
If you reduce to a single column accidentally, it's confusing.
- Clear caffeinated status when we receive a close event for the
caffeinated window.
- Fix an operator precedence mistake in the normalisation routine.
- Fix skipping the current line of i3status output upon decoding error.
- Don't hide Sway's workspace buttons when in debug mode.
- Don't allow sending columns with rows to fresh workspaces.
- Fix moving previously-hidden containers to a fresh workspace on
reload.
- Fix pulling multiple columns from the right when some have >1 row.
- papersway(1): Fix several sample bindings.
- papersway(1): Reorganise somewhat.
You can find the source at https://git.spwhitton.name/papersway for
browsing online or git cloning.
Releases are made by publishing signed git tags to that repository.
The tag for this release is named 'v2.000', and is signed by me.
On Debian trixie and unstable systems, apt-get install papersway
