I realise I've left this a little late, but on the off-chance other
people have as well...

I've signed up for one of the Debian-branded Swiss Army knives
(http://wiki.debian.org/Merchandise/SwissKnives) and the time has come
to commit. It looks like there may be the possibility of getting cheaper
shipping as a lot, so, is anyone else in the UK getting one and if so
would you like to pool shipping?

(I'm assuming it's going to be cheaper for me to get it shipped to the
UK and pick it up at some point when I'm over than get it shipped to the
US, even as a group thing.)

I would if it could be picked up by someone in Cambridge and stored
there until I get back.

Though when I asked the price I was given was 12CHF for individual
shipping to anywhere in the world outside 'Europe' - for some reason
UK is the same price as Thailand (and presumably US as well). If you
enter where you want to ship to you get a chance to see the shipping
price and confirm.

That wouldn't surprise me- we're in "Europe" when they want our money
to squander, and we're not in Europe when they want to charge us for
shipping!

Although the Swiss, sensible as ever, have all the "benefits" of the
EU and none of the disadvantages.

I hadn't realised that shipping costs would be provided if I clicked
through after providing my address details; given that shipping to the
US is no more than shipping to the UK I'm going to go that route and get
it shipped directly to me.

To those of you who hadn't made the payment yet.

Shipping to UK is 12 CHF.
If your Bank doesn't do SEPA transactions they will charge you a lot!
NatWest give me the option of paying ?20 for a transfer or ?27 for a
speedy one! No, than you!
Also if you'd stuck and you have to pay using PayPal, second and the
only realistic option if you live outside CH or EU, debian.ch asks you
to cover the fees which is 6% on top of the knife and p/p. I don't have
a problem with it, as they're non-profit org - I simply wish this had
been made clear at the beginning.

Would anyone from Cambridge or surrounding areas like to reconsider?
