I'd be interested if you looked at xorriso for the ISO piece:

replacement.

They don't share any code with cdrecord and I'm always looking for more
users/bug reports.

I don't have any DVD writing equipment so if anyone does and can help
testing....

xfburn provides a graphical interface but tends to lag behind the
features in the command line interfaces developed by the libburnia team.
