[Debian-uk] DVD writing

I hope this is not a stupid question: what's the tool of choice for
writing DVDs on Debian?

I normally use cdrdao for CD writing. Last time I used anything else,
it was cdrecord - I seem to remember wodim being the current equivalent.

I think I tried DVD writing with both cdrdao and wodim a while ago and
didn't manage to make it work. I think I looked at dvdrwtools (or some
similar name) too and either couldn't get my head around how, or it
didn't work. I seem to remember not managing to find a mkisofs-alike
which could cope with writing a >2GB file, either.

So, am I just being thick, or are the appropriate tools for making a
DVD image and burning it to a disk non-obvious?

Thanks!
