[Debian-uk] amd64 on ftp.uk.debian.org

I've tried pointing my new amd64 machine to http://ftp.uk.debian.org/,
simply copying the apt/sources.list file from my older i386 machine,
but for some reason, I keep getting 404 errors when apt-get tries to
download the Packages or Sources files.  I can read them quite happily
using links or the like; does anyone have any ideas what might be
wrong?  My setup works perfectly when I replace ftp.uk.debian.org with
plain old ftp.debian.org.
