Small surplus of GBP 12 from the money taken in there; as always I'm donating that to d-uk. Other notables: big lump of cash from sending T-shirts to the guys in the Netherlands for a Linux show there, and (finally!) sent a T-shirt to Germany for somebody who paid in February at FOSDEM. Joey Hess sent me a new machine to use as an arm buildd (a Thecus N2100), which I've filled with RAM to maximise performance. I don=E2=80=99t think it=E2=80=99s short of places, so you should be able t= o find one. Please excuse me if the details are a bit sketchy as I don=E2=80=99t drive,= but a couple of suggestions are: There=E2=80=99s car parking near Dukes 92 [3]. Access is via Castle St (cobbled), I think, opposite the end of Whitworth St West. There is also under cover parking at Bauer Millet[4] on Albion Street. It's about =C2=A38 from 7:30 to 23:00, I=E2=80=99m told. Searching in the area using Google maps (I searched for "car parks" near "m3 4ly"): The NCP parking south of Whitworth Street West at M15 4BB is closed. I don=E2=80=99t know about the one on Stone Street just off Liverp= ool Road at M3 4NE. (i.e. a very important person, not a minor functionary) He is interested in building the case that 'open source is good for Europe'. It seems that while he _knows_ of the existence of European companies who make a living supporting Open source products or developing using Open Source, he doesn't actually know many personally. So he needs real data with real companies, instead of just 'anecdotal evidence'. If you have the time, can you send me a paragraph saying: The name of your company What Open Source products are contributing to your financial success How many employees you have and if you would be interested in disclosing financial information to him that could indicate how OS is helping European economies. He is particularly interested in small consulting firms. He thinks that the EU hasn't been counting them when it has been trying to measure its own IT industry, which results in people concluding that we don't have much of one. You can say more, of course, but since he will probably contact you directly, there is no need to tell all in the first mail. I've promised to send him lists of companies every week, so that his mailbox doesn't overflow with mail from all you folk.
