I have no idea if this is of any interest to anyone, but it might be
useful for someone wanting to earn a bit of money.
Basically, on Thursday at the expo I got chatting to a guy called Amir
Hosseinpour, who is the director for a company called Zaygo Ltd . Before
he wandered away he asked if I knew anyone who would like to earn a bit
of money coding Perl.
As far as I can make out the product they sell (I'm too idle to go and
look at their website, http://www.zaygo.com) is some sort of web
shopping cart, and they have a plugin system to add functionality. And
it is people to code these plugins that he was looking for.
It seems that they will send the coder an API and a spec for the plugin,
and the coder sends the completed plugin back and gets paid. This sort
of thing would probably be best suited for you studenty/unemployed
types.
Anyway, if anyone is interested you can mail the guy at amir@zaygo.com,
and mutter something about the expo.
Disclaimer: I don't know anything about this guy or his company. Maybe
they actually trade in pickled uk debian developers. What do I know? Any
business you do with this company is at your own risk, etc etc, and has
nothing to do with me.
On a different note: Thanks to everyone who turned up at the expo to
help make it such good, wholesome fun, and apologies for shooting off at
the end and not helping to tidy up. Hopefully I'll see you all next year
again, or possibly in B'ham (is that happening?).
Cheers
Dave
