I think there is a special exemption in the act that allows holding of
minimal personal data (name and address/contact details) for the purpose
of running a mailing list. The act only really comes into play when you
keep intimately personal data such as what colour socks people prefer to
wear, and whether they prefer cafe lattes or cafe mochas.
