Bug#1100998: [initscripts] Removes kmod in trixie, while not providing the same functionality

Package: initscripts
Version: 3.14-4
Severity: normal

initscripts 3.14-4 in trixie has

  Breaks: kmod (<< 34.1-1)
  Replaces: kmod (<< 34.1-1)

Could you clarify in what way does it "replace" the kmod package, while it
lacks the essential tools from it like modprobe, depmod, insmod, lsmod etc?

kmod version in trixie is 34-3 (lower), so it is just getting removed.

I faced my system being partially inoperational after a reboot, due to
"modprobe" not being available anymore.
