I just sent a patch for insserv as part of #1056176. Essentially, if $DPKG_ROOT
is not the empty string, it calls insserv with the following arguments instead:
insserv \
--path "$DPKG_ROOT/etc/init.d" \
--override "$DPKG_ROOT/etc/insserv/overrides/" \
--insserv-dir "$DPKG_ROOT/etc/init.d/" \
--config "$DPKG_ROOT/etc/insserv.conf"
This seems to work but maybe somebody spots another mistake there.
