Dear Dimity,

You are right on both counts. Indeed systemd is pid 0 on my system.

In answer to your query, I attempted -

$ aptitude why insserv
i   rcconf  Depends sysv-rc
i A sysv-rc Depends insserv (> 1.12.0-10)
