Hi Benda,
thanks a lot. Devuan has a separate git repo for sysvinit, but it
would be probably better/easier for everybody to use
salsa.debian.org/debian/sysvinit for this effort. I have created a
guest account on salsa (KatolaZ). Are we going to use pull-requests?
Are we going to open requests for single quilt patches? I admit I
don't know the details of the latest git-related Debian workflow.
I have also contacted Jesse Smith (the current upstream developer and
maintainer) and he confirms that most (if not all) of the Debian
patches have been merged in the newer upstream versions. Also, some of
the recent development work has fixed several issues, including some
of the bugs on the BTS. So it looks like we could probably try to
build a 2.91 for experimental, and see how many of the open bugs
remain outstanding there? Also, Jesse seems very happy to help on this
stuff.
