This is the debianized version of HDF. The original source can be downloaded from: ftp://ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu/HDF/HDF/HDF_Current/tar/HDF4.1r4.tar.gz The HDF license is enclosed. It is a BSDish license. The packaging is Copyright 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 Philippe Troin and is licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). On Debian systems, the GPL can be found in /usr/share/common-licenses/GPL. The following changes have been performed: I've extensively modified the Makefiles so that the library is built shared and the Debian packages for zlib and libjpeg could be reused. Additionnaly, the special version of netcdf that comes with HDF has not been compiled into this package. Email me if you want it. The sources have been modified to include the system zlib, and jpeg libraries. The included documentation is version 4.1r3 since the 4.1r4 documentation does not come in HTML format. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Copyright Notice and Statement for NCSA Hierarchical Data Format (HDF) Software Library and Utilities Copyright 1988-2000 The Board of Trustees of the University of Illinois All rights reserved.
